I was born with a Megadrive pad in my hands, so I virtually love the console by itself, with all its games... but if I had to choose my favourites, those who are written with fire deep inside my heart, this would be the list:

- Ecco The Dolphin: The Tides of Time
- Sonic 1
- Light Crusader
- Altered Beast
- Zombies!

I consider this the mandatory games for a Sega collector:

Sonic 1
Sonic 2
Sonic 3 with Knuckles lock-on
Gunstar Heroes
Streets of Rage 2
Streets of Rage 3
Toejam and Earl 2: Panic on Funkatron
Kid Chameleon
General Chaos
Ecco the Dolphin
Jurassic Park
Beavis and ButtHead
Shinobi 3
Ronald McDonald TreasureLand Adventure

I don't consider the SplatterHouse 2 and 3 games to be mandatory for Sega collectors these days. The price is pretty high, and honestly the SplatterHouse series has never been great. They are pretty lousy games. I also don't consider the TMNT Hyperstone Heist, Castlevania Bloodlines, nor the Contra Hard Corps game to be mandatory because they have a better equivalent on SNES. Any game that was released on both consoles is better on SNES (except Beavis and Butthead and Jurassic Park). The reason for the Ronald McDonald game is because it is a unique specimen, and by Treasure.
