I remember getting a Game Boy Advance back in 2002 and already having a couple of games. I went to someone's house and, knowing I had the console, gave me a Game Boy game in the form of Super Mario Land. It would be one of the first Mario games I played and owned.

What was the first Game Boy game you owned? What did you like about it? Was it the reason to own a Game Boy

I bought my first Game Boy from a friend at school for a tenner in about 98/99. Think I paid a few quid extra for Link's Awakening but he also gave me Wario Land and Tetris. Possibly also Super Mario Land, but I'm not sure.

So, the first GB game I played was one of those.
